home alone

i don't like sleeping in an empty house.
once the sun arrives, i'm fine, but in its absence I tend to freak myself out and stay awake until 3am, just to make sure the robbers in long black trench coats don't come to kidnap me.
i really wish i was kidding.
someday, i'll be brave enough to spend the night in any empty house, go to bed on time and not worry about possible intrusion, but until then . . .

i'm going to go home, and probably won't go to bed until 3am.
i also have another rule for myself - i don't watch CSI or Law & Order (my two favorite shows) after dark. Call me a wimp - really, go ahead - but i believe it's my pessimism that gets the better of me. I always try to watch something cheerful and bright before going to bed (if i'm watching anything at all) - such as Sesame Street :)
